Dear Clay County Friends,

We are pleased to announce the Eleventh Wes Whiddon Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, Saturday 28, 2019 at the Bent Creek Golf Club. The tournament is held every school year to raise money for the Wes Whiddon Scholarship Fund.

The Wes Whiddon Athletic Scholarship was established in 2009 by the OPJH Athletic Department in order to help local kids go to college. The scholarship is available to any graduating Clay County student-athlete that played sports at the junior high or high school level while attending a Clay County school. The recipients have each received $1,042 in tuition assistance. All Clay County High Schools have had at least one recipient to date. Largely due to community support, we have been fortunate enough to award almost $70,000 in scholarships to Clay County graduates in honor of Wesley Whiddon. Playing college football and receiving a college education was Wesley’s dream. Our goal is to help make Wesley’s dream of a college education a reality for as many Clay County student-athletes as possible.

There are several ways to assist in supporting this goal. You can choose to be a sponsor (see sponsorship levels listed below) and/or you can register for a tournament foursome. The cost of the foursome is $340 or $85per golfer and it includes green fees, cart fees, lunch, dinner, and a golf goodie bag.

Sponsorship Opportunities:

“#42” Sponsor ($1000) – Registration cost for 4 golfers; 4 embroidered golf shirts (provide sizes); Hole Sponsorship (hole sign w/ co. name.);

“The Rock” Sponsor ($500) – Includes registration cost for 4 golfers and hole sponsorship.

“The Legend” Hole Sponsor ($100) – Hole sponsorship (hole sign with company name) displayed on hole.

Participation in the tournament is a great way to honor Wes’ memory and his dream. Join us to celebrate Wes’ memory and to raise funds to make scholarships available for Clay County High School student- athletes.
