The Momma Francie Scholarship Fund is a Non-Profit organization based in Elk Grove, California. The mission of the organization is to award a yearly scholarship to a Sacramento area student athlete in honor of our name sake Francie Basquez.

For over 20 years Francie was mainstay and highly active in many softball organizations in the Sacramento area, most notably with the Elk Grove Recreational softball league, Elk Grove High School, the LTG Lions travel softball organization.

As an avid fundraiser Francie ensured that the game of softball could be a gateway for young women to be able to live out their dreams of becoming a college student athlete. Her main task was to make the costs of equipment and traveling as low as possible. This allowed every young girl the chance to be able to participate in the sport. Sadly, in December 2020 we lost Francie due to a long battle with breast cancer. However, her giving spirit will live on through this scholarship fund.

The tournament will be held at Timber Creek Golf Course on Saturday August 27th, 2022. We will be using a 4 man scramble format. The price per foursome is $600. This includes: Green fees, driving range, breakfast, lunch, swag bag, and automatic entry into the putting contest, long drive contest, and closest to the pin contest. Each player will also be given 1 mulligan to be used during play.
