The Boston Slammers (Program of the Regan Youth League) is hosting its 2nd Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Thursday, July 11th, 2019 – at the D.W. Field Golf Course in Brockton, MA. All proceeds from the tournament will go towards raising funds to send the Boston Slammers teams to the 2019 Baseball for All (BFA) Nationals Baseball Tournament in Rockford, Illinois. This will be the 3rd year the Slammers will play in the BFA Tournament, and this year we are thrilled to be bringing 5 teams! We are excited to collaborate with the Boston Athletic Academy on this tournament.

The Boston Slammers is an all-girls Baseball organization, organized in 2017, to give girls the opportunity to play travel baseball. The Boston Slammers continue to provide girls the rightful opportunity to discover the athlete within them. 

This year is our 3rd year of tournament play, and our organization has grown exponentially based on the success of our programs. During the past two tournament seasons, The Slammers received multiple requests from girls all over New England, wishing to participate in the Slammers program. We have expanded our rosters even further in attempts to answer those wishes, and again further expanded on last years two additional age groups (13u & 18u). Once again, we are looking to send five competitive teams to this years BFA Nationals Tournament in Rockford, Illinois in early August.

While this growth is fantastic and exciting, with the roster expansion comes expansion in costs, hence our organization’s decision to host our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament. We must fundraise to make it possible for many of our girls to participate. Currently, of the 5 Teams going to Nationals, seventeen players are at risk of not being able to travel due to the high costs of the tournament and related expenses. We would like to send every girl who wants to play. 

This Golf Fundraiser is one of the main sources of funding for our girls, and will help to make our girls’ dream of playing baseball on a national stage – at the home stadium of the Rockford Peaches of the AAGPBL – come true!
