In 1962, a few African American women, who loved to play golf, decided to form an association of women golfers. The Keney Links Women’s Golf Club was formed. The women played at Keney Golf Course in Hartford, CT. In 1962, Keney Links became affiliated with the Southern New England Women’s Golf Association (SNEWGA). The mission of the club is:

A) To promote women’s golf in Greater Hartford.

B) To provide golf and social events to its members and the community.

C) To encourage good golf and good sportsmanship.

This year the Keney Links will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a golf tournament and banquet. The event will be on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at 2:00pm with registration at 1:00pm. Keney Golf Course in Hartford. We are honored to have JoAnn Price, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Fairview Capital Partners, Inc. and Ionis Bracy Martin, Co-Founder of Keney Links Women’s Golf Club, as Co-Chairs of this event.

The beneficiary of The Keney Links Women’s Golf Tournament is The First Tee of Connecticut, which uses the game of golf to encourage kids to develop the strength of character to accept lifetime challenges and opportunities. The proceeds will be used to bring the game of golf to youth in urban areas and to Grace Academy, a tuition-free middle school in Hartford for girls from underserved families in Hartford. Its mission is to break the cycle of poverty through education and character building.
