Liberty Tax will be hosting its 10th Annual Golf Tournament and Pre-Tournament mixer this year to benefit Breast Cancer Awareness in memory of Kerri Durkin Valenti on May 26 and May 28. The Pre-Tournament mixer will be held at The Red Mill Tavern in Pittston, PA on Friday, May 26 from 6-9 pm. The golf tournament will be held at Wilkes-Barre Municipal Golf Course on Sunday, May 28 with a shotgun start at 8am.

After fighting a courageous battle with triple negative breast cancer, Kerri passed away on December 21, 2016. She was the daughter of Faye and the late Thomas Durkin, and sister to Mara Durkin-Bradford. Born and raised in Avoca, PA, Kerri called the Greater Pittston Area home throughout her childhood and school years. Kerri graduated from Seton Catholic HS (Class of 1992) in Pittston, PA and earned her undergrad from Ryder University. She then continued her education at Hahnemann University and graduated with a master’s degree in family therapy.

On January 3, 2015, Kerri became the wife of Franklin A. Valenti Jr. She was the director of treatment homes for Crossroads Programs LLC in Willingboro and had her own private family counseling practice in Mt. Laurel. She also enjoyed playing softball especially for the Baileys Girls Softball Team in Maple Shade.
