Event fee covers greens fees, shared carts, practice balls, prizes, and post-golf barbecue. Non-golfers are welcome to register for dinner only. Dinner includes live music and raffle. Proceeds benefit Cue Camp Virginia, an annual family learning weekend held over the Columbus Day weekend for families with children who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. Camp is sponsored by the Northern Virginia Cued Speech Association. Cued Speech was invented in 1966 to enhance literacy by making all the phonemes (sounds) of spoken language visually clear and unambiguous (by means of hand cues) for children who cannot hear them, allowing development of the complete language base necessary for high level reading comprehension.
