The Kiwanis Club of Columbia County is holding the First Annual Sweet Life Par 2 Charity Golf Tournament on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Bartram Trail Golf Club.

The fun format will include only a chip and putt for each hole in a scramble format. The afternoon begins with a BBQ lunch at 12 noon and a shotgun starts at 1:30 pm. If your short game is better than your long game, this is the tournament for you!

Laura Coble will hold a short game clinic before we tee off.

All proceeds from this event go to support Camp Sweet Life, which is sponsored by Children’s Hospital of Georgia. It is an overnight summer camp for children between the ages of 7 to 16 who have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes or insulin dependent Diabetes. The goal of the camp is to provide children and adolescents with diabetes the opportunity to participate in normal childhood activities in a summer camp setting. It also provides parents a break from caring for a child with chronic illness. They can be assured their child is cared for and having fun in a safe environment.

At Camp Sweet Life, the main focus is taken off the child’s medical needs and placed instead on their psychosocial and developmental needs. Campers are offered the excitement and fun of traditional summer camp activities. They are also offered the unique advantage of being in an environment cared for by experienced staff who are responsive to their unique medical needs. Campers will enjoy a weekend packed full of adventure alongside other children with diabetes.
Camp Sweet Life is an opportunity for children to create memories that will last a lifetime. 
Most importantly, it is a time for kids to just be kids!
