In Spanish, “El Camino” means “The Way” and that is in short the what the El Camino golf bag means to golfers who enjoy a manual stroll at their local golf course; for this is the way to do it.
This particular walking golf bag by SundayGolf has created a fantastic blend between function & fashion. I was able to comfortably fit 11 golf clubs in the bag (could’ve fit 14 but it would’ve been a squeeze).
The bag is fit with a majority of the features that you’d expect from a full-sized stand bag and even some features that most industry stand bags don’t have.
The Expected
- Easily adjustable dual shoulder straps
- Reactive Stand that keeps the clubs clean, dry, and accessible
- Storage to fit rain-gear and other
The Unexpected
- Light as ever @ only 3.9lbs (My Titleist Hybrid14 is 6.1 lbs!)
- Velcro Glove Holder
- Lined Cooler Pocket for up to six cans of
beer…soda - External tee holder
- Waterproof pocket for phone & wallet (but no purse)
- Mesh netting pocket (that I used for my range finder)
- Doesn’t have the “Junior” bag feel
- Can be carted without an issue (Loma is probably a little too small for this).
Wishlist for future versions of the bag:
- A metal hub for for my magnetic range finder strap and any other magnetic golf accessories.
- A spot for my umbrella
Overall Impression
I am a fan of functional advances in my daily life.. especially advances that don’t compromise and make me look out of place. The fact that this bag makes it feel more like I have a caddy carrying my bag than hauling luggage at the airport is worth it enough to buy a compact bag. I’d definitely suggest this bag to anyone who likes to walk a golf course because it has all of the features that I would expect in a golf bag and way more to top it off. The price at <$210 is more than worth it in my humble opinion.
P.S. Your back will thank you for investing in this bag!
