More Event Information

**This year we are donating our proceeds to a Madison County resident, Sharon Heisler who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Sharon, her husband, and her four children currently live In Plain City where their children attend Jonathan Alder Schools.**
OUR STORY:
Back in 2002, we started a charity tournament for our dad (Roy Bennett-a Madison County resident all his life) who was diagnosed with stomach cancer. We wanted to help raise money for holistic treatments he was going to receive in Mexico after conventional treatments of chemotherapy had failed and drained our parent’s bank account. We lost our dad so young and we miss him so much every day. Our heart aches every year our family does not get to build memories with him and even more so that our kids are getting older and our dad was never given the chance to get to know his grandchildren. We try to help our kids remember who our dad was through our memories of him, but as the years pass a lot of the earlier memories of our dad are fading fast, and unfortunately those last few weeks with him before his death is what we remember the most. Those are certainly not any type of memories we want to pass along to our children, and so that is the sole purpose why we do this fundraiser every year.
We want to help other families in their time of need and help them build good memories with their loved ones while they are in the fight of their life. We remember all too well the stress, the anger, the sickness, the guilt, the hurt, the sadness, the feeling of being helpless, the days and nights of no sleep, and mostly the depleting bank account as we scrambled to pay for every last treatment to keep our dad alive. Medical bills are no joke, especially treatments for cancer. Being able to hand the money we raised from our event to that family we chose, is one of the most rewarding feelings of joy and love we could ever explain. It fills a hole in our hearts that are forever empty because of our dad’s loss and gives us a chance to pay it forward to another family who is dealing with the unfortunate diagnosis of cancer.
Our family has been especially hit hard by cancer, and we spent a lot of our childhood learning what grief and loss were all about. Cancer has taken 10 people all together (on just my dad’s side of the family), with two of them being our young cousins who lost their battle at the ages of 19 and 23, and four of them being our aunts who battled breast cancer.
So, you can imagine how this year tugs at our heartstrings when we get to hand over the money we raised to the family in a time of such need.
How can you help?
1. Get a team and golf in the outing. There are only 36 spots for golf teams this year, so register fast before the team slots fill up. **(AS OF 2/2/18-WE ARE CURRENTLY FULL WITH TEAMS-WE DO TAKE A WAITING LIST THOUGH, AS SOME TEAMS MAY DROP OUT)**
2. Be a shirt sponsor where you can get your company logo on the shirts we hand out to the golfers.
3. Sponsor a hole. We have unlimited availability for a $75 hole sponsorship (you will get your name or company name and info on a sign at a designated hole)
4. Donate a door prize. We take unlimited donations we take and they can be anything small or big. Examples are gift cards, tickets, baskets, golf items, gift certificates.
Every single dime collected will go straight to the family to help pay off their medical bills, or whatever they need help with to get them through this time!
We appreciate all of the help and support we have received over the past 16 years. It blows us away every year to see how many kind souls there are in this world, especially our friends and family! We are so blessed to be surrounded by such loving people!
