More Event Information
Hey everyone, it’s getting to be that time of year again, let’s play golf !
This tournament is open to everyone including interested family members, friends, and former employees. The emphasis is FUN; we are focused on enjoying ourselves and seeing our peers in a different environment.
When possible we try and setup the groups to allow people that might not know each other to be introduced, we also try to make sure beginners can have fun by being placed in a group with someone more experienced.
The format will be a scramble which has all 4 players hit from the tee, the best shot is selected by the Team Captain and everyone else picks their ball up and takes a turn hitting from that same spot. This process is completed when the ball is in the hole, each of the selected shots is added up to make up the team score for the hole.
The date is Saturday August 3rd at Eagle Valley Golf Course (East Course) on the north east side of Carson City; our tee time will be at 8:00am (round typically takes 5 hours in this format). If we can bring a minimum of 40 players we will do a shotgun start which allows all teams to start on a different hole at the same time, and finish at the same time.
The cost for the round of golf is $50.00; this includes cart, range balls (practice), and your contribution to the prize fund. Lunch will be bbq chicken, salad, and lemonade or ice tea for $13.00.
Please respond back to me ASAP if you want to sign up so I can reserve our spots with the Golf Course. Please indicate your planned level of participation (golf, lunch, or both).
The entrance fee will need to be paid in advance to me or one of my Organizing Team (Alex Keyser, Susan Porter, Margaret Keating, John Strack, and Su Sieber) by COB on July 19th.
If you want to play but don’t have clubs that’s OK we will ask those players with extra sets to loan them out so everyone can participate without having to purchase or rent them (this has worked very well in past tournaments).
If I missed anyone on the invite list help me spread the word.
There will be a longest drive and closest to the hole prizes for both men and women. We will also have a prizes to recognize the first and last place teams.
Just because you’ve never played golf before doesn’t mean you can’t play in this tournament, this is a great opportunity to try it out, have a few laughs, we welcome and encourage novice golfers to participate.
If you have any questions let me know.
