Proceeds benefit BBB Consumer Education Fund (CEF), a 501(c)(3) organization. BBB CEF exists to promote safe buying practices, wise giving practices, and provides information about scams. This fund also helps prepare young people for success in a global economy by sponsoring the BBB Trust Scholarship. In addition, we provide identity theft/scam presentations to local high schools and senior citizen groups.
The event is named after 17 year BBB employee, Bruce Gadansky, who passed away November 30, 2020 due to complications of COVID. Bruce LOVED working for BBB and helping the community. Bruce spent a lot of time educating high school students, seniors, business owners, and other groups on scams and bad businesses in the marketplace.
