As most of you know my brother Curtis and his wife Shanna’s son Mason was diagnosed with Gardners syndrome. It is a rare genetic disease that is a subtype of Familial Adenomatous Polyposis which leads to various, often in large numbers, growths ( fibromas, desmoid tumors, sebaceous cyst). This puts Mason at very high risk for many cancers including liver cancer by age 3. No treatments or on going trials are available at this point. Currently there is less than 17,000 patients in the United States diagnosed with Gardners Syndrome. Not only does Mason have a very rare disease, he is also the first patient with this disease to have this many tumors. So he is extremely rare. Let’s all rally together to raise awareness and funds for research and clinical trials!
