Miracle League baseball began in Conyers, Georgia in 1998 when the Rockdale Youth Baseball Association invited children with unique abilities to play on a typical baseball field. That first season, on a grass and dirt field, 140 players came out to play baseball. The Miracle League has been growing ever since! In 2015 The Miracle League of Western Massachusetts was founded by Tammy and Ernie Fitzell. They wanted to be able to provide children of all abilities the chance to play baseball. And since that day we have been doing just that.

The 3rd Annual Miracle League of Western Massachusetts Golf Tournament will be held on Wednesday, May 9th at Wyckoff Country Club in Holyoke, MA. With help from volunteers, players and sponsors we will be able to continue to run our league and build an accessible play structure for our players. A custom designed play structure incorporates a cushioned rubberized turf that allows children in wheelchairs and walkers to glide unrestricted. Sometimes we take the small things for granted, like climbing to the top at the playground; this play structure can make those dreams come true for children of ALL abilities. This specialized play structure costs $125,000. Last year we were able to raise just under $11,000. Because we do not have the funding for the playground just yet, we cannot finalize the location. We have a ways to go, but with your help it can become a reality!
