More Event Information

We are back at Hancock Golf Course for the 7th straight year, and looking forward to another wonderful Waterloo Disc Golf Classic. Last year’s event raised $9,700 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas (RMH), bringing our grand total donation to RMH to over $136,000!

Doubles (one round, flex start) all day on Friday, October 18th; three rounds of Singles on Sat & Sun, Oct 19-20, 2019.

Come enjoy the oldest, longest running disc golf tournament in the Southwestern U.S. and one of the oldest in the world. You will play two full 18-hole disc golf courses on this scenic 9-hole ball golf course, the oldest golf course west of the Mississippi. A “Disc-Golf-Family” event like no other.

We need your NAME, DIVISION, EMAIL ADDRESS and PHONE NUMBER. Remember, if you call the cell phone, be sure to leave a message with all your info, including the date and time of your call. Don’t hang up and call later to try and reach us in person; that might just put you further down on the list.

It’s Father Dave McC-Note Time

So the big McC-Note news is that the Waterloo Classic is finally coming into the 2000s with online registration!

Beginning at noon on Wednesday, June 26th, you can sign up as a Father Dave McC-Note Challenger on the Disc Golf United (DGU) registration site. The event is not yet published on the site (so don’t bother looking for it just yet), but when it does go up the link will be: https://www.discgolfunited.com/disc-golf-tournaments/event-detail.cfm/tourn_id/7159

We have said for many years now that regular registration for the annual Waterloo Disc Golf Classic tournament usually starts EITHER when we get to about 1 ½ months out – around the beginning of September – OR when we get ½ full with Father Dave McC-Note Challengers. Lately it has been when we get half-full, and that has been happening earlier and earlier each year.

We aren’t to the half-way full mark of 90 players yet but putting this online on Wednesday means we will probably get there pretty soon, so consider this your last-chance-notice to get your McC-Note in to save your spot before regular registration opens up for the 42nd Annual Waterloo Disc Golf Classic, Oct 19-20, 2019, at Hancock Golf Course in Austin, TX.

And… regular registration will be done online through DGU also . More info about that coming soon, and it will likely go really fast too.

As a reminder, here is how the Father Dave McC-Note Challenge works:

Register for the tournament on DGU for $100 now. Your spot in the tournament is guaranteed. When fees for the different divisions are set, we will deduct from your $100: your entry fee; ace pot; ring-of-fire; and non-active pdga fee (if applicable).

All the money left goes directly to the charity. For the past five years at Hancock, we have averaged 120 McC-Noters, which added an average of $3,350 each year to the total charitable donation!
You will also receive a special McC-Note Goodie in your player’s package.

To clarify something that comes up occasionally: this money saves “your” spot, not “a” spot. Once the tournament fills up and there is a waitlist, if you have to cancel you can’t just give your spot to someone else. As with any cancellation, the spot goes to the next person on the waitlist. If you do have to cancel, you will receive a refund of everything except what would have gone to the charity (and that money will still be added to the donation).
