In early April 2017, we were heartbroken to lose Andrew “Drew” M. Pointek to his battle with addiction.
Drew was a lifetime resident of Enfield and was a graduate of Enfield High School, Class of 1993. After graduating he served his country as a member of the Connecticut Air National Guard. After an honorable discharge, he was employed as a lineman by AT&T and was most recently employed by Eversource of Western Massachusetts.
Drew had a passion for motorcycles, golfing, home landscaping, and the outdoors.
Most of all, Drew loved spending time with his five year old son Cooper, whom he adored.

Addiction can affect ANYONE. No one is immune. Addiction is a chronic disease and an equal-opportunity one at that. Contrary to many beliefs, addiction to opioids is not limited to impoverished rural areas and the inner city –and it is currently an epidemic in Enfield,

Our goal with the Andrew M. Pointek Annual Golf Tournament is to (1) raise awareness regarding drug addiction and the opioid epidemic in Enfield and the state of Connecticut (2) raise funds for Cooper Pointek’s college fund (3) give back to the Enfield community through a charitable contribution to Enfield Together Coalition – which was established to assess the extent of substance use in Enfield, CT and to develop ways to reduce the use of alcohol and other drugs by Enfield youth.
Please, let’s not lose ONE MORE loved one to addiction.
