It’s that time of year again – our SIXTEENTH year – and with your help – we’ve raised $312,000 – all to help others.

Before I lose you – and you don’t read any further – let me know ASAP if you want to play. We’re going to cap the entries at 44 teams. This is an invitation only tournament. If you have another team that would like to play – please forward me their information, and we’ll do our best to make room.

With your generous support – the golf tournament has raised right at $178,000 over the past 15 years. And for those of you that have helped with our St. Baldrick’s Foundation fund raiser – right at $122,000. And some of you were part of the $12,000 that we helped out with Lift Brigade.

As most of you know, the golf tournament is our only fund raiser that supports our philanthropic goals – making sure Kids can be Kids!

Our goal is to help the Hospital with the medical aspect of providing care for children and secondly, to provide an “outlet” for kids fighting life threatening diseases – Kids Being Kids.

Dell Children’s Hospital is – and has been – the main recipient of our fund raising goals. To date, our sponsors and supporters have made it possible for us to donate $50,000 to the Hospital and $25,000 to the Children’s Blood and Cancer Center.

With last year’s funds, we purchased 35 iPads that will be used by children at Dell Children’s Hospital and at the CBCC. The majority of the initial order of iPads are for the children going through bone marrow transplants. We have also purchased teaching dolls, that will be used by the staff at the CBCC to help children understand the procedures they are going through.

Our goals moving forward will be to directly support the Child Life Services programs at both Dell Children’s Hospital and at the CBCC. Funds received this year will be targeted for additional iPads to support the cancer wing of the Hospital – better known as 4 North.

We have been working with Lance White – who started the non-profit organization Lift Brigade – to provide gaming carts and gaming consoles for the cancer wing at Dell Children’s Hospital and for the Children’s Blood and Cancer Clinic. Lift Brigade provides support for pediatric cancer patients and their families when they need a LIFT. Our plan is to continue to work with Lance and his Dad Steve to provide more gaming and social media opportunities for children at the hospital

I could write on and on about the great experiences that we’ve had with children from the Hospital and all of the great things that your support has made possible over the years to help these wonderful children. All I can say is THANK YOU!
