Deborah was born on September 2, 1978 and reunited with her “Dani Jo” on Thursday, August 25, 2022.
Deborah was a wife, a mother, a daughter , a sister, a cousin, a friend, and a PROUD SELFLESS VETERAN.
Deborah loved the game of golf, was passionate about her fellow veterans, and precious family. It was not unusual to see Deborah pulling a wagon with her dog Haji through her neighborhood, Her idea of a good time was an evening of “FORCED FAMILY FUN TIME”, great Indian food and a good margarita.
Deborah was the Ambassador for the PGA H.O.P.E. (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) program where she was able to focus on her sense of purpose by integrating at risk veterans back into the local community.
Deborah never knew a stranger, always the first one to step up and help people. Her laughter, oh her laughter! It could fill an entire room and
consumed her entire body as her big beautiful brown eyes would light up. Tried and True, as she did not know defeat, the words “Impossible” or “No” did not exist, many times, choosing the hard way just because who she was.
Deborah dedicated her life to service after September 11th, enlisting in the Army and serving loyally until she retired 16 years later. That was not the end to her life of service as she continued to devote her time to those around her, especially local veterans.

Southern Arizona Justice for Veterans (SAJV) needs your help and financial support to continue and expand the many services offered to assist veterans through the Regional Municipalities Veterans Treatment Court (RMVTC).

RMVTC is a nationally recognized diversion program for both active-duty members and veterans charged with non-violent misdemeanor offenses. Many of these misdemeanor charges are a direct result of the veteran’s experience in the Military and often stem from unaddressed substance abuse, mental health issues, and homelessness. Left unsupported, untreated, and ignored, these issues make it difficult for Veterans to rehabilitate and return into the community. Veterans who participate in the RMVTC are held to a higher degree of accountability than non-veteran citizens charged with similar misdemeanor offenses;participants are required to attend regular counseling sessions and monthly court hearings for a minimum of six months, submit to random alcohol and drug testing, engage in one-on-one mentorship, and have their cases closely monitored by volunteer attorneys, court staff, and counselors. Once a participant successfully completes required treatment, they are eligible to have their charges dismissed.

Southern Arizona Justice for Veterans purpose is to provide critical gap funding to the RMVTC program. Monies from SAJV support ongoing alcohol and drug testing, mentorships, substance abuse and mental health counseling, education, and medical treatment for RMVTC participants.

The funding provided by SAJV for the RMVTC program is a modest attempt to thank Veterans for their service by helping them avoid the stigma of a criminal conviction, avoid incarceration, reduce recidivism, and help them return as positive and contributing members of our community

Southern Arizona Veterans Treatment through the Regional Municipalities Treatment Court saves lives, families, and futures.
