More Event Information

Join us for the second annual Donny G Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, August 21, at the Brier Creek Country Club in Raleigh, North Carolina. This event will once again benefit the Cancer Research Institute in memory of the late Donald Gillespie, known as “Donny G” by friends and colleagues.

The four-person scramble is sure to be a great day of golf, food and fun. You don’t need to have a four-person group to enter, and the tournament features prizes for the top three foursomes and several other chances to win on the course!

Brier Creek Country Club boasts an 18-hole golf course, designed by Arnold Palmer that proves to be both challenging for the tournament player, yet member-friendly for the average golfer.

  Golfers: Sign up using the green ‘Tickets’ button above. Individuals= $160  Team= $600 total. To register a foursome group select the ‘team’ option (Each team member must register themselves through the site).

Prices for team and individual tickets include greens fees, cart, food and complimentary gifts. All sponsors will be honored at the event.

Q: What about the weather?

A: This is a rain or shine event. Keep your fingers crossed for sunshine but bring the rain gear if it looks iffy. If the weather takes a turn for the worse and the safety of golfers is in jeopardy, we will make a decision on the day of the event.

Q: Is there a dress code?

A: Yes, golfers must wear a collared shirt. Jeans, cargo shorts, shoes with metal spikes are not permitted on the property.

Q: I would like to volunteer but I also want to golf, can I do both?

A: Yes, we would welcome you to volunteer before or after the event. When you register to volunteer on this site, please note that you will also be golfing and we will find a spot for you!

Q: I am interested in attending to watch and take part of the post-golf festivities. Do I need to sign up?

A: YES! Please fill out a ‘spectator ticket’. The suggested donation for spectators is $50 to cover the cost of food/beverage on the day of the event. Please make sure to dress for the weather and observe the club rules.

A: There are many options: Click here. Brier Creek is also close to the airport to make the trip easy for those traveling into town!

Q: Can I rent golf clubs?
