Over eighty-five years ago, a tradition of caring and sharing was established in the DeKalb/Sycamore area with the first Goodfellows Christmas project. Our informal group meets primarily during the holiday season to help spread Christmas cheer to families in need in our community. We Goodfellows truly believe in delivering the magic of Christmas, particularly for the many children who might not otherwise receive gifts from Santa Claus each year.

Goodfellows volunteers deliver gifts to approximately 1,100 children in our community.

Unlike many charitable entities that have overhead, staff expenses, and other operating expenses, One Hundred Percent of every dollar donated to Goodfellows is spent directly on gifts for the underprivileged children in our community.

In 2020, Goodfellows, like many charitable organizations, had to be creative in our fundraising to make sure that we could continue to carry on our tradition. Thankfully, as a result of the overwhelming generosity of our community, we were able to meet the needs of every family that applied and requested gifts for their children last year. 2021 is no different and we expect to see an even larger number of children in need this year.

We are kicking off a new fundraiser event in 2021 due to increased need in our community by hosting a golf outing called Golf for Good that will take place on August 13th, 2021 at the Sycamore Golf Club.
