More Event Information

Golfology fore Cardiology (GFC) is a Pro/Am golf event benefiting the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at the University of Kansas Hospital Center for Advanced Heart Care. GFC has raised $250,000 over the past five (5) years. The funds have enabled the expansion of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program to a second outpatient n site in Overland Park, Kansas, and the launching of an innovative a new program called Heart SMARRT (Self-Managemen​t and Risk Reduction Training), which aims to help patients continue to engage in heart-healthy behaviors after completion of cardiac rehabilitation. With your support, we hope to keep expanding and improving these services.

This year’s tournament will be held on Monday September 22nd at Shadow Glen Golf Club. Our goal is to raise $50,000+ again this year to benefit the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.

Each amateur foursome will play with a local club pro to make up a team. The format will be a “shamble,” where the foursome will choose the best drive (including the pro’s drive if they desire) and then each member of the foursome will play his or her own ball in from that point forward. The lowest two scores of the team (including the pro’s score if it’s one of the two lowest of the team) will count for a total hole score. The pro will always play his own ball and will compete against the other 31 pro’s for a purse that will be in excess of $5,000.
