The Pugh Family Charity Golf Classic will be held at Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club in Leesburg, Virginia on Friday May 19, 2023. Raspberry Falls is a prestigious Gary Player designed golf course and has been named one of the top 10 public golf courses in Virginia.

100% of the net proceeds raised will be spread across two foundations committed to finding cures for Alzheimer’s and Glioblastoma Multiforme (Glioblastoma).

Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease, which destroys memory and other brain functions eventually leading to those afflicted with this disease unable to carry out the simplest of tasks. Every minute of every day, another case of Alzheimer’s is diagnosed and certainly affects at least one person YOU know. The Alzheimer’s Research Foundation is a 501c (3) non-profit whose mission is dedicated solely to finding a cure for Alzheimer’s.

Glioblastoma is a fast-growing type of tumor that occurs in the brain or spinal cord. It is the most common primary brain cancer in adults and one of the most lethal forms of cancer, with average life expectancy estimated between 14 and 16 months after diagnosis. The Glioblastoma Foundation is a 501c (3) non-profit whose mission is to develop novel drug therapies for Glioblastoma.

Our family has been devastated by the loss of George (Bob) Pugh (father of Chris Pugh), who succumbed to Glioblastoma in 2022 and Peter Hurd (father of Wendy Hurd Pugh) who succumbed to Alzheimer’s in 2015.

Words cannot begin to convey how much these patriarchs of the Pugh/Hurd families were loved and are missed. We thank you in advance for supporting our cause and helping us reach our fund-raising goal of $50,000.

Tournament Details & Schedule of Events:

• Time: 9:00 am, Shotgun start (handicaps not required)
• Format: Captain’s choice scramble
• Check In: Begins 7:30 am
• Driving Range: Open 7:30 am-8:35 am (weather permitting)

Registration Includes:

• 18-Hole round of golf
• Driving range access & golf cart rental
• On course – contests
• Light Breakfast
• Beverages during and after play
• Dinner Buffet following play

Note: Registration & payment must be completed, no later than May 5th, 2023. When completing registration, please ensure to list pairing or group player names in the provided text field at check-out.
