More Event Information

On July 8th, 2017, area community members will be joining together to take part in the Second Annual Santa Cops for Kids ‘Putting for Presents’ Golf Tournament at Maryville’s award-winning Mozingo Lake Golf Course. The tournament, which supports the Nodaway County Santa Cops for Kids Program, assists in our yearly fundraising efforts to help provide a happier, more fruitful holiday season to underprivileged children in Nodaway County.

The Santa Cops for Kids Program was founded five years ago by law enforcement officers from the Nodaway County region. Over the past four years, law enforcement volunteers have dedicated countless hours to conducting various fundraising efforts within the community. The proceeds raised subsequently support our year-end shopping event, during which uniformed law enforcement officers escort area children-in-need to a local retail establishment, purchasing a plethora of wish list items, brightening their holiday experience in the process. While various clothing items and toys are the popular purchases amongst the attendees, volunteers have also purchased food related items upon the child’s request, a truly heartbreaking experience for all involved in the Santa Cops Program.

Since its inception in 2013, the Santa Cops Program has been fortunate to see growth not only in fundraising efforts, but also in community support. In 2016, the Santa Cops team set a program record in terms of fundraising, which in turn, allowed us to assist a record number of Nodaway County children. In addition, this incredible increase in support allowed us to grow exponentially in terms of funds spent per child, rivaling areas and agencies much larger than our own – including the St. Joseph/Buchanan County region. We seek to continue that growth, and with your assistance, hope to once again assist a record number of Nodaway County children this holiday season.

Tournament date: 07/08/2017 – Shotgun start at 2:00 PM

Tournament location: Mozingo Lake Golf Course (Sechrest 18)

Tournament format: Scramble-style event featuring teams of four (4) participants

Tournament entry: $200.00 – TEAM ($50.00 – PLAYER)

Miscellaneous information: Individual/team prizes awarded for qualifying participants. Registration fee includes green/cart fees, tournament registration and a post-event meal. Sponsorship opportunities are available for this event – please contact us for more information!
