Official Event Sponsor Toyota of Batavia and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention – Western NY Chapter bring you the S.P.U.D.S. Foundation 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Chestnut Hill Country Club, Darien Center, NY. 100% of proceeds will benefit American Foundation for Suicide Prevention – Western NY Chapter, the nation’s leading non-profit 501©(3) organization in suicide prevention with a goal to reduce the rate 20% by 2025.

Join us in the SPUDS mission to change the conversation about suicide and mental illness. Every year suicide claims more lives than war, murder, and natural disasters combined, and yet we struggle to talk about it. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause for ages 10-44 and 1 in every 5 Americans struggle with mental illness. Talk saves lives.

WHY? Tragically, WNY has the highest rate of suicide attempts across the state and has doubled in the past 5 yrs. In New York State, a person dies by suicide every 5 hrs. It’s 10th leading cause of death and 2nd leading for ages 10-44. We lose 22 veterans a day from PTSD. LGBT youth are 4 times more likely, and questioning youth are 3 times more likely.
