Are you interested in playing golf, but have never tried? Have you watched golf tournaments on tv and thought golf looks like a fun sport? Are you a lapsed golfer that would like to play more? Do you play golf, but could use some basic instruction? 


Lost Marsh Golf Course in conjunction with The Ted Rhodes Foundation will be hosting golf clinics during the summer.  GOLF 101 is a 3-part Series (offered in June and July/August) and is open to women and men. Lost Marsh Golf Course is a great golf course located only 7 minutes from the Horseshoe Hammond Casino. 


Each session will include three consecutive Saturdays, lasting an hour and a half each day. Each participant will receive a Welcome to Golf booklet. The clinic will cover full swing, pitching, chipping, putting, and basic knowledge of how the game is played.  The sessions will be taught by Brandon White –  Golf professional & Program Director of the First Tee of Lake County. Dress comfortably and wear shoes that you can easily move in while at the golf course.


Participants will select 1 session to attend. The session dates are listed below and both sessions will be held on Saturdays from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. (25 person max per session)


Session 1 will be held June 1, 8, 15.


Session 2 will be held July 27, August 3, August 10.

What is the minimum age required to participate in GOLF 101?


The minimum age to participate in GOLF 101 is 18 years old. Lost Marsh has a youth program “First Tee of Lake County” onsite and parents can register their youth via the website (https://www.thefirstteelakecounty.org)


Is participation in all 3 sessions required?


In order to get the full benefit of the learning experience, participation in all 3 sessions is encouraged. 


Do I need my own golf clubs?


If you have your own golf clubs, you can bring them to GOLF 101. If you do not have your own golf clubs, Lost Marsh will provide golf clubs that you can use for the sessions.
