The golf tournament was renamed in 2013 in memory of Emmett Forrest (The Keeper of the Flame) an avid golfer and a true friend to everyone he met, whether playing golf or at the Andy Griffith Museum.
This Mayberry Days event is at Cross Creek Country Club with a “Sheriff’s Choice” golf tournament that begins at High Noon with the Ernest “Tee-Off” at 12:30 p.m. for the shotgun start. Teams compete for trophies, awards and bragging rights for the year.
Individuals or pairs are welcome to golf and will be assigned to a team before the tournament.
