THE SECOND ANNUAL JAMES AND CATHY MOCK GOLF CLASSIC

The Second Annual James and Cathy Golf Classic will tee off on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at the Champions Golf Course in Columbus, Ohio. The Mocks were instrumental in the inception of the Outing and continue to be a driving force behind its growth. The name recognition for the event, we believe, not only honors their commitment, but raises the visibility of the Golf Classic as the fundraising arm for scholarship funding and critical youth auxiliary initiatives, including our Sigma Beta Club, Archonette Club, and the From Girls to Pearls Program.

The Sigma 614 and Gamma Zeta Zeta Education Foundations represent the philanthropic focus of the local Alumni Chapters of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Both organizations have impacted the Central Ohio Community for over 70 years with their advocacy, educational and service directed programming.

The James and Cathy Mock Golf Classic, formerly the Golf Shirts and Sundresses Golf Classic, is an eighteen hole 4-Person Scramble with a Shotgun Start at 1:00 PM. For Sponsorship Opportunities and Registration Information see contact info below.

James W. Mock, Sr is a Life Member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and President/CEO of Mock Business Services Group (MBSG). MBSG has provided business services in the areas of printing, real estate, property management and bail bond service. Currently, he is focused on real estate investment and property management. In 2008, James retired from the United States Air Force and the Defense Logistics Agency. He has memberships in numerous community-based organizations, and has served on a number of nonprofit boards.

Cathy Copeland Mock is a Life Member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority and Vice President/COO of Mock Business Services Group (MBSG). Cathy retired from her position as Director of Supplier Diversity for Cardinal Health in 2019, where she was responsible for leading the company’s national supplier diversity initiatives and represented Cardinal on a number of nonprofit boards.

Since the inception of the Sigma 614 Foundation and the Gamma Zeta Zeta Education Foundation, our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations have been dedicated to touching the lives of underserved populations in Central Ohio. To that end, we proudly support the charitable missions of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Beta Omicron Sigma Chapter and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Gamma Zeta Zeta Chapter, and we are excited to join forces in hosting The Second Annual James and Cathy Mock Golf Classic!

We welcome golfers and community partners to this fundraising event, which will support critical scholarship initiatives, youth development training, and leadership programs.
