TWO PERSON SCRAMBLE Format: On every hole, each team member may hit a tee shot. The team thenselects one of the tee shots to play for the next shot. Both members of the team then hit from that position. This procedure continues until the ball is in the hole. At the end of each hole, the gross scorefor the group is recorded on the card.
Each team competes as for the LOWEST TEAM NET SCORE for the 18 holes. The TWO PERSON SCRAMBLE format is a TEAM NET SCORE event. Team handicap is calculated by adding together 35% of the “A” player’s and 15% of the “B” player’s handicaps. The “A” player is defined as the player with the lowest handicap and the “B” player has the higher handicap.
The game should be played following local golf course rules and general USGA golf rules.
A team member may improve their lie prior to the next shot. Team players are allowed to clean and move one club length 180° from selected shot without taking advantage of distance. Putts need to beplaced within 3 inches of the marked spot (no closer to the hole).
To allow for flow of play, Double Bogey is Your Friend. That is the maximum allowed score per hole per team.
All teams should exchange scoring cards and Record the Total Gross Score per Hole. Any symbols, plus par, minus par scoring will disqualify. NET Scores will be computed at the end of tournament play.
Senior Participants (60+) and participants with USGA handicaps over 20.0 are required to hit from the delegated “Senior” teeing ground selected by the event host. Participants with 20.0+ handicaps must also tee off from the “Red” tees on PAR 3 holes only.
In the event that there is a tie in the TWO PERSON SCRAMBLE, a scorecard playoff will be conducted to break any remaining ties.
Additional Contests:
Closest to the Pin: If your tee shot is on the green and closest to the Pin/Hole, write your name on the marker card and place the marker in the ground on the spot where your ball came to rest. Once the marker has been placed in the ground, it should stay there until someone else hits a closer shot. Today’s“CTP” holes are xxxx and xxxx.
Longest Drive: If your drive is in the fairway and the longest, write your name on the marker card and place the marker in the ground on the spot where your ball lays. Today’s Longest Drives hole is 18.
Ryder Cup Style Team Match Play: Squads will be selected at random and play a TEAM NET SCORE match play type competition against randomly assign teams by subtracting the lower handicap TEAM from the higher, then assign the difference to the weaker TEAM. In other words, the better TEAM (theone with the lower team handicap) plays off scratch, while the weaker team is the only one of the groupwho uses handicap strokes in the match based on the holes with the lowest handicap. In the event of a tie, a putting competition will take place to determine the winning Squad.
